Getting Lost in Big Bear

There are a lot of truck bed accessory options out there. Ultimately, what drove you to DiamondBack?

Harry: There are a ton of truck bed covers out there, but I wanted something that could actually keep up with how I use my truck. Between work, everyday life, and loading it up for camping and overlanding, I needed something tough, secure, and practical. The DiamondBack HD checked all the boxes and it looks pretty dang good on the Tundra too.

While we may all dream 24/7 about that one spot, or our next outing. On a typical day, where would we find you?

Harry: Most days, I’m at the hospital working as a respiratory therapist. When I’m not working, I’m either spending time with my wife, working out, or probably doing something to my truck that my wife thinks I absolutely did not need.

You’re headed out on a weekend trip. Where are you headed?

Harry: Somewhere with mountains, trees, dirt roads, and hopefully no cell service. I love exploring California, whether it’s the mountains, desert, or coast. Give me a good campsite, the Tundra loaded up, and a couple days away from the city and I’m happy.

Freetime is a rarity. What made you decide to spend yours overlanding?

Harry: Honestly, I just like being outside and exploring. My wife would probably say I just enjoy “playing homeless” on the weekends. But somehow she always ends up having the most fun once we’re out there.

What is one piece of gear you’ll never hit the trail without?

Harry: My ICECO APL55 fridge. Cold drinks, fresh food, and no soggy sandwiches sitting in melted ice? Game changer. Once you have a fridge on your camping setup, it’s really hard to go back.

What is one key to every successful overland excursion?

Harry: Preparation is key! And 99% of the time I’m probably packing way more stuff than I actually need.

Give us an inside look at your bed setup. What is one thing we could always count on finding underneath your DiamondBack?

Harry: You’ll usually find my ICECO APL55 and camping gear. And sometimes my gym gear as well! I like everything very organized and secure!

Tell us about one trail or trip that you’ll never forget?

Harry: Yosemite is definitely one that stands out. Loading up the Tundra, getting out of the city, setting up camp, and waking up surrounded by that scenery is hard to beat.
