huntThere are a lot of truck bed accessory options out there. Ultimately, what drove you to DiamondBack?
Cedric: The biggest thing that drove me to DiamondBack was its unmatched versatility. I needed something that would securely protect my hunting, camera, and outdoor gear without limiting how I could use my truck bed. With the DiamondBack HD, I can keep valuable gear locked underneath while still hauling kayaks, coolers, hunting equipment, or even a whitetail on top. And with the HD having the capability to put an ATV on top is elite. It’s tough, secure, and built for the way I actually use my truck.
While we may all dream 24/7 about that one spot, or our next outing. On a typical day, where would we find you?
Cedric: On a typical day, you’ll probably find me working as a law enforcement officer, spending time with my wife and our three dogs, shooting my bow, checking trail cameras, or working on some type of outdoor content.
You’re headed out on a weekend trip. Where are you headed?
Cedric: For a weekend trip, I’m most likely heading to chase whitetails, fish Table Rock Lake, or explore somewhere new with my wife and our dogs. If it’s fall and the leaves are changing, there’s a good chance the truck is pointed toward another state for a hunting trip!
Tell us about your favorite gear and gadgets that cost under $100.
Cedric: Some of my favorite affordable pieces of gear are a dependable headlamp, a portable power bank, quality ratchet straps, and a good knife. They may not be the most exciting items in my setup, but they’re constantly getting used. A good headlamp alone can make the difference between an easy walk out of the woods and a very long night!
What is one piece of gear you’ll never hunt without?
Cedric: A rangefinder. As a bowhunter, knowing the exact distance can be the difference between punching a tag and a costly mistake. Whether I’m chasing whitetails across the Midwest or chasing elk out West, it’s one piece of gear that is always with me.
Give us an inside look at your bed setup. What are some things we could always count on finding underneath your DiamondBack?
Cedric: You could almost always count on a bow case with a Hoyt inside, hunting boots, a pack, camera equipment, ratchet straps, and at least one Grizzly cooler underneath my DiamondBack. Depending on the season, there may also be some extra SKRE camo, Moultrie trail-cams, fishing equipment, or enough supplies for an impromptu weekend adventure. My truck bed is basically a mobile gear room!
Tell us about one hunt that you’ll never forget?
Cedric: One hunt I’ll never forget was turkey season about 2 years ago when I was hunting with my dad and two brothers. I was able to do the calling for them and all three of them were able to tag out. There were times when it got a little western as some Turkey hunts do and it made for some of my favorite memories! Being able to share the outdoors with the people you care about is truly one of God’s greatest blessings.
