Avid Angler and Kayak Fisherman

Matt K. from Indiana

As an avid kayak fishermen and competition angler, there’s not much that will stand between Matt K. and open waters. Equipping his 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a DiamondBack heavy-duty tonneau cover gave him one less excuse. The ability to keep a wide range of gear secure and out of the elements at all times was priority one when considering truck cover options.

There are a lot of truck bed accessory options out there. Ultimately, what drove you to DiamondBack?

Matt: There were numerous factors that weighed into the decision, by far the ones at the top of the list were security and durability. I’m heavily invested in Kayak fishing and am always looking for an excuse to get out on the water. Due to this, I keep all of my fishing gear locked in the bed of my truck. So naturally, a DiamondBack heavy duty truck cover was the best way to go.

While we may all dream 24/7 about that one spot, or our next outing. On a typical day, where would we find you?

Matt: I work primarily as a computer network consultant, so I'm either at my desk, or occasionally at a clients office. And if I'm not at one of those 2 places, I'm probably out fishing.

You’re headed out on a weekend trip. Where are you headed?

Matt: It varies depending on where the fishing is good. I'm leaving at the crack of dawn tomorrow morning bound for Lake Guntersville. I’ve landed myself a spot in the KBF Trail Series at Lake Guntersville, KBF is Kayak Bass Fishing.

Variety may be the spice of life, but what is one faithful lure you won’t leave home without?

Matt: It depends what I’m throwing for, however, with the majority of waters I find myself in you’ll find a 6th Sense Crush 100x Crankbait on the other end of the line. It’s never let me down.

Tell us about your favorite gear and gadgets under $100.

Matt: My Shelta Seahawk Hat, it's an awesome no-flop brim hat! A true must if you’re out on the waters for extended periods of time. I don't go fishing without have one on my head.

Give us an inside look at your bed setup. What are some things we can always count on finding underneath your DiamondBack?

Matt: What won't you find? The first thing you’ll notice are my 12 rods at stand-by, strung and prepped with reels. 3 generous tubs of bait to keep me out on the water as long as time permits, a reliable net, paddle, kayak seat, and my PFD.
